Clare Fielding Reflects on Collaboration
Clare Fielding

My academic background is in history, economics and law. I began my career in 1990 at the Bank of England, first in a financial regulation role and later in the Bank’s legal team. I decided to follow a legal path, and I put in a four year shift at evening class to obtain my legal qualifications while still at the Bank getting some interesting and varied experience. In the late 90s I joined one of the “Magic Circle” City law firms and qualified as a solicitor in commercial real estate and planning. Planning law emerged in time as my specialism, and in 2016 I co-founded a specialist planning law firm. I’d always wanted to set up a business from scratch and have a hand in shaping its culture.  In a few years our firm became, and remains, the UK’s leading planning law firm. In my final years of legal practice, I served two terms as the firm's Managing Partner.

I am still a non-practising solicitor, with a personal interest in human rights law.

My coaching is oriented toward leaders, senior managers and leadership teams.  My approach is founded on the principle that senior people flourish in their own independent thinking. As a coach I act as “thinking partner”, supporting, challenging, creating an environment for the deepest, most creative thinking.  I particularly enjoy helping people in their professional and personal development, building resilience and enhancing strategic thinking. I also love working with leadership teams, helping to foster strong relationships and positive organisational culture. I have a broad and inclusive approach, with command of a range of different coaching approaches, the better to respond to different client needs and provide a multi-dimensional experience.

I have a passion for lifelong learning and am currently studying towards an MA in Philosophy. I love music, food, sport and being with friends.

I look forward to working with you.

I am a coach, facilitator and workplace mediator. I am accredited with the International Coach Federation (ICF), the world’s largest global professional coaching association, and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR).

I’m a coach, facilitator and mentor. I’m accredited as a coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF).

My academic background is in history, economics and law. I began my career at the Bank of England, in a financial regulatory role. After a time, I decided to pursue a legal path and while working at the Bank I put in a four year shift of evening study to obtain my legal qualifications.

Once I’d completed my legal studies, I joined a leading City law firm and qualified as a solicitor, doing commercial real estate work. Planning law emerged in time as my specialism, and in 2016 I co-founded a boutique planning law firm with some like-minded friends. I’d always wanted to set up a business from scratch and have a hand in shaping its culture.  In a few years our firm became, and remains, the country’s leading planning law firm. In recent years, I served two terms as the firm's Managing Partner.

I’m still a non-practising solicitor with a personal interest in equalities and human rights law, which aligns with my coaching practice and my charitable interests.

My coaching practice is oriented toward leaders, executives, and professionals.  My approach is founded on the principle that senior people flourish in their own independent thinking. I act as thinking partner, supporting, challenging, creating the right environment for the deepest, most creative thinking.  I particularly enjoy supporting people in their professional and personal development, building resilience, emotional intelligence and personal effectiveness. I also enjoy working with leadership teams, helping to strengthen organisational culture.

I have a broad and inclusive approach with command of a range of different coaching theories and techniques, the better to respond to different client needs and to provide a richer experience of coaching.

I love music, food, being active and spending time with friends. I have a passion for lifelong learning and am currently studying towards an MA.

I look forward to working with you.
